Writing about Running

A diary, mostly about running, by Aseem Vadehra

Out from the Covers

I nearly cancelled this morning. When I woke up, after the long haul, I had an urge to crawl deep into the covers.

But after some contemplation and struggle, I made my way to the track.

It was supposed to be a an hour’s worth of time on feet. When I began, I could see the track gang milling about stretching, doing drills.

At some point they joined me for thirty minutes. I don’t know whether it was Monu or Ashwini or later Sujit but the pace kept getting pushed. Many weaved in and out through the effort and it turned out to be a hard tempo effort.

When they finished, I cooled off with a few more laps.

As always, a run is rewards, and I was glad I got out from the covers.
