When I pulled up at the track this morning, I wondered if I would be as lucky as I was on Wednesday.
To have Ashwini or someone for company for the one kilometre repetitions workout.
I was as lucky – Ashwini and Suryansh both joined in. After the warm up and a few drills, we were ready.
This time in the morning, it’s cold, dark, foggy, polluted and the track is nearly empty.
With Suryansh and Ashwini, it’s as if it is dappled sunlight in springtime.
The prescribed time appears possible, although daunting and demanding it is.
With each repetition, we kept at nearly the same pace, a second or two faster than the range. Then we stepped on it and became a few seconds faster and then some more.
Counting these down with the two boys makes me infinitely grateful to start a morning in this way.
