Writing about Running

A diary, mostly about running, by Aseem Vadehra

A Slow Sunday

When Gokul, Shikha and I started this Sunday morning, I sensed a sluggish pace in all of us.

I had been feeling the intervals and the tempo of yesterday in my bones. I wondered what was up with the other two – or perhaps I holding them back?

We stayed quiet during most of the run, simply in step with each other. Usually, after a few kilometres, I warm up enough for the pace to change – and at times – dramatically.

But today was steady state nearly till the end of the run.

Because of a race next Sunday, it was a short effort for me, ending the time on feet much earlier than usual.
