Writing about Running

A diary, mostly about running, by Aseem Vadehra

Long at the Track

When the young boy and I reached the track, it was near empty.

Unlike the last few days where the air was clear and crisp, today was gloomy and a low mist hung like cobwebs above the track.

We started immediately and tried to warm up quick as we could. After a few kilometres with me, the boy continued on his training with Coach Ravi and I carried on.

I had switched my long run to today and it was Lane 9 all the way. Ashwini joined in and together we soldiered on for fifty rounds.

I asked myself if it was numbing or if I was meant to feel that way.

At any rate, on we went, this time on feet, numbing, enjoyable and meditative all at once.
