Writing about Running

A diary, mostly about running, by Aseem Vadehra

At last, outside

After a couple of weeks on the treadmill, other than the marathon that wasn’t, I ran outside. Because I woke up late, I ran in the driveway.

Within a few rounds, I found that much needed rhythm. Just up and down, easy, to feel, slightly accelerating after about twenty minutes and then keeping it steady.

Thoughts, nearly all about work, buzzed around in my head, like bees. The only way I could quieten them was to focus on the run. Thinking about my core pushing my hips, legs rising, the strike of the feet, lift, and repeat.

At any rate, today, I was outside.
