When I woke up this morning, I was absolutely certain that I wouldn’t be able to manage the pyramid intervals.
I had had a long travel day, I was exhausted, under-slept, bloated and heavy.
My sister and I were the first to enter the track save for one older gentleman diligently making his way around in lane five or six.
To my good fortune, Ashwini was there just as I finished my warm up rounds.
Away we went, Ashwini, Sujit and I, and hammered down the intervals, the pyramid and the timings. In many ways, other than complete darkness and a ghostly fog, the run was perfect.
The boys, the coach yelling out the splits, the track that was full soon after with kids of all age groups training – it seemed like the anticipation of spring was in the air – even though it was yet single digit temperatures and foggy mornings.
Hope keeps the track going.
