Writing about Running

A diary, mostly about running, by Aseem Vadehra

Spring in the step

To be light footed is surely the privilege of the youth, and almost certainly of young children.

I watched admiringly as the young boy jumped through the hurdles, going through the various drills. Far from perfect, but that kind of nimbleness is to be caught at an early age.

Could I do it now at my age? Perhaps after a ton of that kind of training. But to what point. For the children, that’s a different kind of training but also so much of this mobility comes naturally.

The monkeying around, the spring in the step, the ability to simply move. I enjoy seeing this.

When we started a perfect dawn sky pushed above the horizon. When we finished the sky was a light and joyous blue.
