Writing about Running

A diary, mostly about running, by Aseem Vadehra

A birthday

When I woke up, the shades in the sky were just about beginning. I woke up the young boy gently and his first words were Happy Birthday. It warmed me infinitely, as it would.

We stepped out to a cool, beautiful morning and ran up and down with relative ease. I was under slept because of a late meeting and he seemed to tire out in the middle of the run.

But we carried on in good cheer, attempting to name five countries using each letter of the alphabet. It’s surprising how challenging this can be.

We finished strong, rounded it off with a waffle breakfast, setting the tone for a lovely spring day ahead.
