Today when I started the long run I thought I would start with the Shanti Path loop that clocks at approximately 2.7 kilometres and after a couple of loops, perhaps head out towards the parallel roads here and there.
Once I did that, I thought I would do a couple more. Then I said a couple more until it was clear to me that I wanted to just run here itself – just this loop. I wonder how these thoughts form, how these decisions took place.
I watched people, I thought about my pace but I didn’t look at the watch, I felt surprisingly good throughout, light and free and then towards the end surprisingly bad as the sun peeled back the clouds. And then good again.
It had been a while since I did a thirty and it’s a good number.
