On the way to work, I was listening to Thiyagaraja’s Pancharatna Krithis. It was a mouthful for me to say let alone pronounce. But the music was beautiful and made me think of the morning run for no particular reason at all.
We had hard-ish intervals. The thing about intervals – of course to state the obvious – that you can change the gear and make them harder or stay within a zone that feels between hard and manageable.
When I started, that’s how it worked and as I progressed – Suryansh running with me – we intensified the pace.
Keep yourself loose and free, I kept telling myself.
I finished strong and later while listening to the Krithis, remembering the run, even if for no reason, it felt just right. That act of creation, of action. Running is a Krithi too.
