Writing about Running

A diary, mostly about running, by Aseem Vadehra

An hour on my feet

A 60 minute easy run is meant to be just that. Relaxing the body, going with the flow, just running. That’s how it is supposed to be. It depends. It’s Tuesday and I didn’t want to run in Nehru Park alone so I chose to go to the track.

While the usual track gang takes Tuesday as their day off, the track was busy. These days dawn doesn’t begin to show till 545 AM, and it was running between pools of light and shadow from the overhead stadium lights.

I was joined by another group of kids that hadn’t taken Tuesday off and they peeled in and out depending on their routine. Coach Ravi too joined me once a while in beloved Lane Nine.
