Writing about Running

A diary, mostly about running, by Aseem Vadehra

Easy to Moderate

I was hoping to find company to run outside on the road but it was lane nine for today.

A kid called Gaju joined me. He reminded me of Benedict Cumberbatch from Sherlock Holmes although I don’t remember watching that show.

It seemed quiet even as the track was full of people, kids training, whistles blowing and the sound of shoes galloping.

I gently increased the pace through the run but keeping on the easy side of moderate. Because I don’t usually check heart rate, relying on RPE, I am hoping to improve that sweet spot – increasing mileage while feeling the easy-moderate mark.

When I finished the sky was turning a bluish-grey, the air was still and heavy but the day ahead optimistic.
