I went to Nehru Park in the evening with a hope that I would do two rounds.
It’s been a while since I ran inside the park. The path is laid with soft turf material which gives it an added bounce. I’m not too sure whether I would like to walk on a turf like this – but I guess for runners it feels just fine if a little bouncy at times.
My hamstrings and the abductor felt tight but not painful so I continued on the somewhat tortuous path. That in itself while slowing down the run can add a bit of distraction to the loop.
In my early years of running, I’ve run plenty of times inside Nehru Park so I mentally know where the milestones are – the curves, the “hills”, the parking lot “bridges”, the hidden corners, the relative straights, the rocky outposts, the flats where the concerts take place.
I carried on for another two rounds and a bit to round up an easy eleven, thankful that things are holding up.
