Writing about Running

A diary, mostly about running, by Aseem Vadehra

A Different Route

It began raining about midway through the run.

Gaju and I started with my sister and ran a few loops with her. When we went on our own, a slow pitter patter turned into a downpour.

At the Shanti Path roundabout there was traffic, so we took a left, climbing a short elevated road, then tapered down and went a few kilometres to reach Hyatt and took a left, crossed The Leela and back at Vinay Marg. I am nearly certain that I ran this circuitous route for the first time. Jumping through puddles, on pavement and road, the run finally got done.

At the very least, I had my long run finished before the short break this weekend, and Delhi’s pollution was all washed away.
