Writing about Running

A diary, mostly about running, by Aseem Vadehra

Get Going Sunday

This morning when I parked the car, Nehru Park was already full up and the density would only increase with cars snaking around on both sides of the road.

The Delhi Half is in two weeks and it brings all manner of runners out to the field. The casual, the bucket list, the short distance, the corporates. Everyone seems to be vying for a piece of the race. It’s great for the sport and fabulously festive. Albeit a bit too crowded in this part of town.

The weather is decidedly different – a clear sign that cooler weather is around the corner.

The young boy and I started off on the usual loop and then took off to the quieter environs towards Nyaya Marg. After he finished a brilliant ten kilometres, I saw him off to the car, increased the pace and settled into a fast rhythm to complete the run.
