It’s been a long time since I drove in darkness to the track. The clouds were just changing colours in Gurgaon. But when I pulled up at the track before dawn, it was already teeming with people.
It seemed like a mela of kids, athletes, runners, walkers, coaches and everything in between. Some were sprinting. Some were doing drills. Others were walking backwards. Some at the stairs. Others stretching. Most coming here to get their butt kicked first thing in the morning.
I settled into lane nine with Gaju in a comfortable easy pace and counted down an easy hour at the track.
