And hope to make up tomorrow.

Progressive run like last week except I was more attuned to how to strategise the pacing. Finished strong and ran off to site afterwards.

I hit Nehru Park early enough and put in a steady forty plus minutes. Back home it was the THENX core workout and I was done for the morning.

Rest Day Monday.
-
Because of a late evening, I started a bit late this morning. Nehru Park as usual was packed, overflowing. It seems like another time when these roads were near empty. Now parking is nearly impossible.
I started with my friend Gokul and did a steady five kilometres with him and then set off on my own for the next hour and half. In between I ran a couple of kilometres at a faster pace with a couple of familiar runners. that rounded up Sunday morning.
-
Separated by one minute rest, these intervals felt relentless.
Of course Nehru Park was in full flow. Flags draped and what not for Independence Day. On Shanti Path, during one of the repetitions, a helicopter roared overhead. Forty five minutes later, I was spent and drenched to the bone.
Fig to the rescue with a fresh lime and a medium roast flat white.

Woke up and searched for another THENX workout and found a leg workout that could be made hard or easy depending on the exercise and effort. Went well.
-
Peer Gynt – the cello version by Mischa Maisky – was trailing off as I reached Nehru Park. I ran. My legs felt like lead. This comeback – if I can begin to call it that – is going to take a lot of effort. Well that is saying the obvious. Hurrah. Now what. Go train. Moron.
-
Backwards by at least 30 seconds per kilometre. Or more.
Forward because I did the progressive five kilometre and learnt a lot of where I am today. Not scraping the bottom but near enough the reef. The sun shines from above. All will be well.

After my treadmill workout, I remembered a favourite YouTube video that had a 20 minute ab workout, 45 seconds on, 15 off with each a unique exercise. THENX is an utter calisthenics beast and it was good to follow the routine that I noted (a touch woefully and wistfully) was from five years ago. He’s still making killer videos though and looks like he aged only one weekend.
