Unexpected rest because of my cough.

In these couple of decades of running, I have never run down Niti Marg past the Vatican Embassy (that seems as big as the Vatican itself) and looped around the short end of Shanti Path. I ended up making a new longer loop this past week; one that I could get used to.
Loving it.

A long hectic day in the sun but no run or workout.
-
I need to start coming to Nehru Park an hour earlier. It’s too hot and it’s too packed on Sunday. Good for the running community.
I took varied, myriad loops which has been unlike my usual pattern of routes. For a short time, I had company from a Navy veteran who increased the pace. That may or may not have been the best idea but it put the zing in Sunday long run.

Hit Nehru Park again. I’m making a conscious effort to warm up more than usual. The prescribed pace was too hard. Maybe I hadn’t recovered enough or perhaps it’s the heat. But it was a good workout.
Back home, the young boy and I did a solid workout together matching set for set, rep for rep.

While on Sunday’s the park is like a carnival, the week days are still relatively quiet. There were some of the regulars but swathes of empty road lay before me. This early, there was not much sound. Or again, relatively speaking, considering the usual humdrum of Delhi traffic.
I ran very easy. My calves felt sore thanks to the leg raises done yesterday. Ran this way and that to finish just over an hour. Back home, I put in a good core workout. Hopefully good. At any rate, that set the stage for a cup of tea.

Hit Nehru Park. The temperature is soaring. But I was determined today to hit some good numbers.
It was 500m repeats. Apart from the first one, I think I pretty much nailed it and didn’t feel too sloppy.
Back home, a solid workout rounded up the morning to set tone for the day ahead.

Had a coughing bout last night. As a result slept very little.
-
Ran in the driveway lazily to start the week. Rounded it up with a good core workout.

Rest day today. Mad day at work. Good way to start the week.
